musselexpedition

Mussel expedition, seaside dinner, and cabin coziness.

Bring your friend or why not a bunch of friends for an eventful weekend on and by the sea. Here you stay close to nature in hotel cabins with sea views, enjoy delicious dinners in our seaside restaurant, and spend Saturday with an exciting mussel expedition aboard the M/S Märta, which ends with freshly cooked mussels at the Clock Tower in the old spa town of Lyckorna.

Suggested detailed itinerary Friday to Sunday (it is also possible to stay Saturday-Monday): You check in with us on Friday and enjoy a two-course dinner in our seaside restaurant. Perhaps you would like to take a sauna bath with a dip in the sea from our wood-fired sauna raft? (can be booked as an add-on). On Saturday morning, we deliver breakfast to your cabin, which you can enjoy with a sea view from your kitchen window or terrace. Around 11 o’clock, you will be picked up at our dock for an exciting and educational mussel expedition with Musselbaren’s boat M/S Märta on the fjord outside Lyckorna. The tour starts with a fika, and your guide will tell you about Robert Mc Fie’s desire to make Lyckorna a famous spa town. You will visit the mussel farms’ extensive rigs, which are lifted so you can harvest your own mussels. Back on land, you will cook the mussels on a mussel pan and enjoy them in the old clock tower where Musselbaren’s restaurant is located. In the clock tower, you will be served moules frites, with bread, aioli, coffee, and dessert. The expedition takes about 4.5 hours. For a complete description of the expedition, we refer to Musselbaren’s website. After the expedition, you walk back to us for a quiet moment before dinner in our seaside restaurant. If you wish to be picked up at Musselbaren, we can arrange transportation. You will sleep well in our hotel cabins and be served another breakfast in the cabin before it is time to check out. Of course, you can stay with us on the checkout day to hike, paddle, and enjoy the surroundings.
